How The Book Began
When I first moved to Arizona from the Northeast I immediately became intrigued by the uniqueness of the Saguaro cactus. After learning that only in Arizona would I find this amazing cactus, did I start to notice myself drawn to them even more. I found it interesting to look for them in unusual settings and it became fun to think of how “old” each Saguaro was and counted the “number of arms” extending from their core.

Soon it was even more entertaining to observe the incredibly distinct shape of each Saguaro that reminded me of the correlation to snowflakes…how each one is believed to be different from any other snowflake. And then suddenly, I had this moment when it felt like a Saguaro, which I saw in a very unique place and had a very unique set of arms, was gesturing to me in a way that “spoke to me”. Yep, crazy! But the craziness continued and I began observing more and more Saguaros who were speaking to me…and it usually made me laugh. My inherent sense of humor got the best of me and I started to hear the Saguaro giving me “one-liner’s” on a regular basis.

Yes, the Saguaro do speak to us…if we would just stop and listen. The above excerpt from this unique book is the beginning of a journey into the wonder and mystique of the majestic Saguaro cactus…the King of the Desert in Arizona. This book was created out of a growing respect for the beauty of Arizona and this mysterious cactus, in order to educate and enlighten…with a little added humor. It was designed to be the perfect coffee table book to be found in any home in Arizona (and beyond for visitors). This website is available to individuals, businesses, and fundraising groups to provide an easy and simple way to obtain The Saguaros Speak! as your favorite coffee table book, collector item, personal gift, corporate giveaway, or fundraising item.
Note….to show our appreciation for the beauty of the Sonoran Desert and Arizona’s environment, a portion of the proceeds from the purchase of every book will be donated to the preservation of the Saguaro cacti.
